Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 461, which meets at ESFC's Warren Pittman Founders' Hall, strives for courage, self-reliance, and resourcefulness in all their endeavors. The troop is led by Scoutmaster Augustine Curry, who is an Eagle Scout himself, and Assistant Scoutmaster Willie Nelson.

Scouts learn by doing and working together, which allows them to develop leadership skills and acquire life skills as they work to earn badges and experience camping. ESFC's Troop 461 has produced eight Eagle Scouts, the highest attainable rank in the Boy Scouts program, and consistently receives awards with the Tall Pines and Twin Rivers Districts of Boy Scouts of America, as well as at summer camp at Camp Hood.

Volunteer needs include:
  • Individuals willing to teach specific skills to help boys earn merit badges.
  • Businesses or other sites willing to host educational field trips for the boys.
  • Sponsors who would like to contribute to the boys ' uniforms, summer camp, or other expenses and supporters of fundraisers such as annual popcorn sales.
